Our Climate Action Plan
At Thackley Primary School, we believe every child can make a real difference. Our Climate Action Plan reflects our commitment to protecting the planet and creating a sustainable future. We are proud of the steps we already take to make our school community environmentally responsible.
Pupil voice is at the heart of our approach through the Eco-Schools programme. Our dedicated Eco Team takes the lead, setting priorities, motivating others and putting practical actions into practice. Across the school, we focus on reducing energy use, cutting waste and encouraging everyone to use resources thoughtfully.
We also take action beyond the classroom. Regular community litter picks help us care for the local environment and connect with the area around us. The Grow to School programme gives pupils hands-on experience in growing food, developing gardening skills and learning about nature, healthy living and sustainability. While Rethink Food Academy helps our pupils make healthy, sustainable food choices and understand the impact of food waste.
Together, these initiatives form the foundation of our Climate Action Plan. By building on what we do well, we aim to create an even greener school and inspire our pupils to become confident, responsible and proactive environmental agents.
