Looking after our children’s mental health is something that is important to us at Thackley Primary School. Isolation, physical distancing, the closure of schools and workplaces are just some of the challenges that are affecting us all at the moment. It is natural to feel stress, anxiety, fear and loneliness at this unusual, difficult time. The impact on adults and children should not be underestimated.
It is important to remember that there is a lot of information available to support us all.

Gov.uk has official guidance and lots of useful mental health advice, particularly on how stress and anxiety may affect different age groups of children and possible behaviours they may display. This can all be found at:
The next website which we would recommend is National Geographic, who have recently written a very useful article entitled “Keeping up kids' mental health during coronavirus.”
It discusses the impact of the disruption of normal activities, the sudden split from friends, and, of course, fear of the virus itself on children's behaviour.
Our parents' mental health is as equally as important to us at Thackley. The NHS's Every Mind Matters webpage has lots of advice and guidance on how parents can look after their own mental wellbeing during the crisis.
The Wellbeing and Education at Home Information Pack featured below, brings together resources from a wide range of sources to provide information and support around wellbeing and education.
These include resources for children from early years to the end of their school age including resources for those with special educational needs and disabilities.
