Remembrance 2018

We have been working for the last few weeks on producing a Poppy Wave at Thackley to commemorate the centenary of the end of World War One.  We invited all of our children and their families to make a poppy at home over the half term holiday out of any material they liked. Every child also made a poppy in class.

We received hundreds of beautiful poppies that children and families had made at home and even some through the post from other members of the community who had heard about our idea and wanted to contribute.

The poppies were all added to an enormous wave in the school hall.  It looks truly spectacular and is a fitting tribute to remember those who gave their lives.
