Homework

At Thackley Primary School we believe that all homework should reinforce and support the learning which takes place in school. There are different expectations for children throughout the primary phase and parents will be informed every year of the homework to be set in each year group. Examples of homework tasks may include:
  • Home reading
  • Mental arithmetic skills including Times Tables
  • Spelling activities
  • Research tasks related to topic
We greatly value parental interest and support with your child’s learning, especially when it comes to helping your child to read. Home reading has a high priority in our school and the reward systems we have in place support this. During Reception and Key Stage One, children will bring home weekly words to learn which are vital to the early stages in reading.

Our school has subscribed to I am Learning, a web based program which links home learning and school learning via the internet.
I Am Learning

Our school has subscribed to I am Learning which is an ICT program designed to make learning enjoyable and offers a range of activities and games for the children to participate in covering all subjects.

Similar to Mathletics, I am Learning is a web based program which links home learning and school learning via the internet. Children can access the program both in and out of school by visiting www.iamlearning.co.uk and logging on following the steps outlined below.
