At Thackley we run a wide variety of extra curricular activities. The children really enjoy participating in these activities and they have proved to be a real success.

These are just some of the clubs currently running at Thackley Primary School.

 CHOIR:

 The school choir have been very busy this year.They have regular practices and have been involved in some competitions. Indeed this year the children got to the final of BD1 live and got the opportunity to perform with the London Gospel Choir. Having reached the final they then finished 3rd out of all the schools in Bradford! Wow, what an achievement! Congratulations! If you want to join in the fun then come along to choir!

 

 

 

 

FOOTBALL:

Currently in school we have a Year 5 and 6 football team, with both boys and girls, in fact for the last 3 years our girls have been the Bradford champions for their age group.

Bradford City also visit school on a weekly basis and train the Year 3 and 4 children. We also have an annual penalty shoot out where we raise money.

GYMNASTICS:

We are lucky enough to have Sarah Nash coming into school twice a week:

Key Stage 2          Wednesday morning

Key Stage 1          Friday afternoon

 

The children learn a variety of skills and really enjoy the experience, view our gym club gallery here .

 

 

 

 

 

 

ICT CLUB:

The ICT club has been running for 3 months and is led by our Year 6 children. They are teaching skills using program such as Powerpoint, Word and Excel.

Chess Club:

Chess club is on a Wednesday from 3.00-3.45pm and is open to all upper Key Stage 2 children. Children are learning how to play chess and are really enjoying it!

Newspaper club:

Set up by a group of budding journalists, the newspaper club has just released its first edition of the 'THACKLEY EYE'!

The children planned. researched and wrote all the articles and then produced an 8 page article all about Thackley Primary- it is a fantastic achievement! You will love it!

Art Club:

The children in Key Stage 1 also get the chance to attend an art club. It is proving to be a great success!
